The Transom in
the Big "O" Boat is made out of fiberglass and Plastics. The
transom is full length, and runs the entire width and depth of the boat.
We also attach a transom bar across the width of the transom to give it
even more strength. We feel it is one of the strongest transoms in a
Bass / Flats boat on the market today. Since the Transom has no wood in
it, it will last the life of the boat. If you’ve ever had to replace a
transom in one of your boats before, you can appreciate that.
To give
you an idea of the strength of the transom in a Big "O" Boat,
we had a customer who hit either a log or an alligator while at full
speed. The impact sheared the whole lower unit off his outboard motor.
While doing considerable damage to the motor, it never caused even a
stress crack in the gelcoat. We have a lot of faith in the transoms of
our boat, and you will too.
